Siwa was founded in 2023 with the goal of showcasing the incredible versatility and beauty of Ghanaian textiles, creating heirloom products filled with meaning and heritage.
Our brand name comes from our founder’s middle name–Bentsiwa–a name she proudly shares with her late paternal grandmother.
As a Ghanaian and black woman-owned brand, we take care to respect and amplify cultural knowledge in each product through sustainable and ethical production processes. Each product is handmade in Ghana with love and care, and each print is carefully chosen for both meaning and aesthetics.

our founder
I’ve always loved sewing. My mum taught me to sew when I was very young, and by the time I was 8 I would make everything from clothes for my Barbie dolls to colorful pencil cases with scraps of fabric. I received my first sewing machine as a 10th birthday present, and the obsession only grew stronger from there.
Born after over 5 years of planning and prototyping, Siwa is a true labor of love. It brings together my love of creating beautiful things with my desire to embrace and share my Ghanaian culture and heritage, in beautiful and functional products.
